Don't mess with Texas
When I moved to Texas three years ago, I had resolved not to let my American English be polluted with the Texan Accent. The other day, though, at work we were fixin' to do some software installation, and I told my supervisor, "Well, I haven't aksed Joe about it..." Yes. Y'all heard me right, "aksed". Well, I guess after three years of living with 'em folks, well, you just become one of 'em. That made it. After the "aksed" came out of my mouth, I realized, "Yes. I'm finally a Texan".

i must admit i too have been guilty of thieving some texan vocabulary of my own since my departure from Dallas, but to bring yourself to say - AKSED!!!!! Superjoe, now what the #!? is that (oh, just some more terminology i picked up while in texas) .. but the issue at stake is that AKSED is not Texan but a sacrilege and insult to the English language (and the ears might I add!) So please, in future when tempted, please refrain and think of Shakepeare (and me) and DO NOT DARE AKS ...

Hahah, viendo vuestros comentarios se nota que sois anti-tejanos, o anti-acento-tejano. Pero en fin, no os preocupéis, que estoy haciendo mi mayor esfuerzo por evitar ser contaminado. Pero como dice el dicho, "si no puedes contra ellos, unételes". Pero no no uso jeans ajustados (bastante baggy, pero más por flaco que por gusto) y sombrero tampoco.
